FLEET AIR ARM MUSEUM YEOVILTON – 13th
February 2010
We again put
on a good display of 21 models from 8 modellers. Models ranged from Motor
Torpedo Boats to a Battleship.
As in
previous years we were displaying in the Swordfish Centre which is external to
the main museum. We were allocated the usual 2 free display tables and paid for
an extra 6, this gave us a total of 8, but we still needed to use a number of
our own to give us more display area.
This year the
show authorities introduced a system, where as only 5 fleet entries per club
were allowed to visit the main museum area, anyone else wanting to get into the
main museum to buy from the traders or just to look around, had to purchase a
ticket at a discounted price of £9.00.
I will be
writing to the show authorities and complaining about this, as I felt it cost
enough with fuel costs these days to get to the show without being asked to pay
an entry fee after you have taken the trouble to display your models. At the
end of the day without the models they would not have a show.
I would like
to thank Dave Reith, Chris Hooper, Colin Watson, Peter Gilpin, Roy Skeats,
Charles Davis and John Edwards for displaying their models and Ken Winter for
coming along and helping to man the stand.
